DIRECTOR & DESIGN MANAGER- SIMON FRENCH

Simon is the driving force behind Dirt Art, a company now renowned for innovation, quality and sustainability in mountain bike facility design, construction and management. A veteran in the Australian mountain bike industry, Simon has ridden and raced mountain bikes on the national circuit for over 13 years. A past national downhill champion and series winner, Simon went on to represent Australia at the 2001 World Mountain Bike Championships. These days Simon can still comfortably finish inside the elite finals on the national series circuit. Simon has spent his life immersed in mountain bike culture, having worked as a journalist, photographer, race organizer, trail advocate, and trail builder. The culmination of this was the formation of Dirt Art, a young and dynamic team responsible for some of Australia's most popular trails.

Simon has travelled the globe riding and racing some of the world's most iconic trail centre's, and brings this depth of experience to every project Dirt Art undertakes. These days Simon is equally at home on a downhill bike, dirt jump hardtail, mountain cross bike, or all mountain cross-country bike. Simon has the proven elite riding experience to ensure a thorough understanding of the dynamics of successful trail design and construction. Simon has a true passion to support the ongoing evolution of mountain biking through the design and construction of truly unique and sustainable, world-class mountain bike trails.
